August 2009 Google Webmaster Report

It is that time of the month again and we have your Google webmaster update, brought to you by a WebmasterWorld thread. The July ‘09 report complaints and issues linger on. Including those issues found in the small Google July update from a couple weeks back.

To make things worse, some are noticing proxy sites clutter the Google search results. I do not have specifics, because WebmasterWorld does not allow specifics. Some suspect maybe a new type of spam filter is in place that simply is not working right. One member thanked Google for dropping a “spam” site from the number one position, which it held for years. While others complained that their number one listings, which they held for years, is gone. That is the main theme for early August 2009 at Google web search.
