Injured USC Tailback, Stafon Johnson, Joins Twitter
October 2, 2009 by: adminOn Monday USC’s Stafon Johnson suffered a very serious injury, while lifting, when a weight bar fell on his throat, essentially crushing his throat and larynx. Stafon had to endure a seven-hour surgical procedure to repair the damage.
The good news is his doctors are expecting him to make a full recovery; the bad news is his senior season is likely over.
Stafon’s mother was quoted, on USC’s website, as saying:
"Words cannot express the outpouring of love and support we’ve received. It’s overwhelming, and it means so much to me and Stafon."
After the lengthy surgery, Stafon is currently unalbe to verbally communicate. In order to show his thanks, Stafon followed in the footsteps of his head coach, Pete Carroll (@PeteCarroll), turning to Twitter where he tweeted the following:

Stafon has even set up is own Twitter account (@Stafon13). Now he’ll be able to keep his fans up-to-date on his road to recovery. Just yesterday, Stafon sent out his first tweet from his the account:

Sure, some people see Twitter is a useless service but it’s stories like this one that show what Twitter can truly be used for.
Everyone here at WebProNews wishes you a speedy recovery Stafon.
